May 2017: My People’s Friend short story is now available for you to read for free on Wattpad here, under its original title, Sundae Girl.

May 2017: New Novel: My next novel is currently being proofread. The cover design is complete (thank you, Berni Stevens!) and the release is scheduled for June. I’ve had a lot of fun writing about new characters and a new setting. I really hope you like it. More details to follow soon.

April 2017: Pocket Novel News: I’m thrilled to say that my second People’s Friend pocket novel will be published on 27th July. It’s provisionally titled The Doctor’s Daughter, although that may change. Can’t wait to see it on the shelves of WH Smith and other newsagents and supermarkets!

April 2017: All Because of Baxter: This has now been published by Ulverscroft in large print format and will be available in many libraries. A dream come true!

October 2016: Baxter’s Christmas Wish: This standalone Christmas novella is now out for Kindle and in paperback. It was originally a People’s Friend pocket novel, All Because of Baxter, but I’ve given it a festive remake. Hope you enjoy the adventures of the boisterous Baxter!

September 2016: Once Upon a Long Ago: Book 3 in the Kearton Bay series is now available on Amazon. It follows Will and Lexi and their battle to save their beloved Kearton Hall. I’m delighted that it’s finally out there for you all to read! Hope you enjoy it.

April 2016: This Other Eden: Book 1 in the Skimmerdale series, set in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, is now available on Amazon in Kindle and paperback formats. I think Eliot, my gorgeous Aidan Turner look-alike sheep farmer hero, is my favourite of all the heroes I’ve created. Please don’t tell the others!

February 2016: People’s Friend: My short story is now in People’s Friend Special no 119. It’s been re-titled The Luckiest Man Alive. It’s a fantastic experience, opening the magazine and seeing your story there, with your name, and a brilliant illustration created just for your words! Fabulous.

January 2016: The Romantic Novelists’ Association: I’m now officially a full member of the RNA, thanks to my People’s Friend pocket novel, All Because of Baxter. I’m delighted to be part of such a fantastic organisation, especially after spending two years on the New Writers’ Scheme. If it hadn’t been for the RNA I might never have finished Angel, and I definitely wouldn’t have met my Write Romantic pals, Alex and Julie, and I wouldn’t have become a Write Romantic myself. You see, I owe the RNA big time!

New Covers: I’ve been rebranded! The Kearton Bay novels are now sporting a brand new look, with fabulous covers that reflect the beautiful location they’re set in. Since Yorkshire is my favourite place in the world, and my books are all set there, it seems silly not to illustrate that fact. I love them. Hope you do, too.

Sundae Girl: My short story, Sundae Girl, will appear in the People’s Friend Special, no. 119, which I think is due out around February 17th. Really delighted about that!

December 2015: Book Three is booked in with the editor for just after Christmas, so hopefully it will be published in the early spring of 2016. I’ve made a Pinterest board with pictures that inspired me while writing it, so if you’d like a taster of what to expect, pop over here and take a look. There are lots of Swaledale views, some cute sheep (I’m becoming obsessed), and some rather gorgeous pics of Aidan Turner among others.

October 2015: A Kiss from a Rose half price! For just one weekend, book two in the Kearton Bay series will be 99p. The promotion runs from 1am on 31st October to 1am 2nd November, so grab your copy while you can.

October 2015: Pocket Novel: My People’s Friend pocket novel was released on October 22nd. It’s called All Because of Baxter and features a handsome, if mischievous, boxer dog, whose misadventures lead Ellie into the path of the rather gorgeous Dylan. This will be on the shelves for two weeks, so hurry if you want to read it!

September 2015: A Kiss from a Rose: is now for sale in both paperback and for Kindle. I’m considering putting both Rose and There Must Be An Angel up on other platforms in the near future. There is some argument among authors as to the effectiveness of this. Some writers say they sell very few books through outlets such as Kobo, Nook, iTunes etc. However, others say it’s important not to totally rely on Amazon, and report good sales, so I’ll see how it goes.

August 2015: WIP: I’m starting to edit my third novel and am hoping to release it some time in the early spring of 2016.  It rather depends on when I can be slotted in to my editor’s busy schedule! I’ve had a lot of fun writing this book. It’s not part of the Kearton Bay series, and it was good to visit new characters and a new setting. This book is set in the Yorkshire Dales, and features an inept journalist, an ageing rock star, identity fraud, blackmail, and a rather gorgeous sheep farmer who – in my head at least – looks an awful lot like Aidan Turner! 🙂

As part of my research, I recently attended a talk by Amanda Owen, the Yorkshire Shepherdess, at the Ryedale Literary Festival in Malton. My Write Romantic buddy Alys West came along with me, and it was a great evening. We also heard a talk by Neil Hanson, who wrote The Inn at the Top, about his time as landlord of Tan Hill Inn, the highest inn in England. His son helped him in this, and very entertaining it was, too.

I’m thinking that this book will have one sequel, but I’ll be cracking on with Once Upon A Long Ago, book three in the Kearton Bay series next.
